Damian Lillard

Damian Lillard Lamonte Ollie ( born July 15, 1990 in Oakland, California) is an American professional basketball player who plays in the position of point guard for the Portland Trail Blazers in the NBA. He was drafted in the NBA Draft 2012 # 6 out of the Portland Trail Blazers after he played four years for the Weber State University.

High school career

Lillard played for the Oakland High School, where he scored an average of over 28 points per game, in a game he scored even 45 points. After his high school career, Lillard decided to Weber State University in Utah.

College career

In his first season, 2008-09, he led the University of team, Weber State Wildcats, on winning the regular season Big Sky Conference. In his last season, the team reached with a record of 14 wins and only 2 defeats the finals of the Big Sky Conference. He was named Big Sky MVP. At the end of the season he led the statistics in points ( 24.5 ).

Pro career

Lillard has been selected in 6th place in the 2012 NBA Draft by the Portland Trail Blazers, making it the highest draft pick of Weber State University.

In his first game he scored 23 points and 11 assists against the Lakers. Oscar Robertson (21 points, 10 assists) in 1960, Isiah Thomas (31 points, 11 assists) in 1981 and Michael Carter -Williams ( 22 points, 12 assists ) in 2013 are the only players who are at least 20 points and at least 10 assists in her first NBA game reached. In his first three NBA games, he was able to achieve 21.3 points and 9.0 assists on average. Only two other players in the NBA history achieved this: Oscar Robertson in 1960 for the Cincinnati Royals ( 24.0 points, 10.0 assists) and John Wall in 2010 for the Washington Wizards ( 23.7 points, 10.3 assists). In his first 10 games, he reached 19.0 points and 6.1 assists. At least 19.0 points and 6.0 assists as a rookie last succeeded Isiah Thomas 1981 ( 21.2 points and 6.9 assists). In his 22nd season game he scored the 400th point and put the 140 Assist to. Only three players reached that mark faster: Oscar Robertson ( in the 17th game, 1960), Isiah Thomas (1981 ) and Allen Iverson (1996 ) (both in the 21 game). At the end of his first NBA season he was voted Rookie of the Year 2013. He finished the season with 19.0 points from, 3.1 rebounds and 6.5 assists per game and All- Rookie First Team was called to the NBA.

2014 Lillard was first appointed to the NBA All- Star Game. With the All-Star Weekend in 2014, he is the first player who participates in all five competitions. Together with Trey Burke, he managed to defend his title for Skills Challenge title from last year.
