Mitja Mežnar
Mitja Mežnar (* June 30, 1988 in Kranj ) is a Slovenian ski jumper.
Career
Mežnar in 2005 and 2007 as a member of the Slovenian team Junior World Champion in the team competition on the normal hill. In December 2007, he gave the Swiss Engelberg his debut in the World Cup. In the Slovenian ski jumping championships in 2009 in Kranj he jumped to 10th in the individual and in the team competition on the 4th Place. In the Four Hills Tournament 2009/10 he finished the opening event in Oberstdorf 18 ranking as the third best Slovene Jernej Damjan behind and Robert Kranjec. At the Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver in 2010 he reached the large hill to 29th place and together with Primoz Pikl, Peter Prevc and Robert Kranjec in the team competition the 8th Place. His best-ever individual placing it reached on 15 January 2011, when he jumped to 16th in Sapporo.
In the Nordic World Ski Championships 2011 in Oslo Mežnar reached on the normal hill to 40th place and with the team on the normal hill in sixth place.
In summer 2011 Mežnar started with a good 15th place in Kranj in the summer - Continental Cup. A little later, he joined the ski jumping Grand Prix 2011. Szczyrk he jumped it as just 28 in the points. After he was able to win points clear in Courchevel, Hakuba and as 12 in Almaty, he finished the Grand Prix at the 45th place overall.
In the 2011/12 season Mežnar launched in the Continental. He reached the opening event of Rovaniemi eighth straight away a top- 10 ranking. In Almaty, he just missed the podium in fourth. Also in Erzurum he jumped twice on this rank. Then he moved back into the A-team, but missed in all Jumping Four Hills Tournament 2011/12, which he finished 41st overall, the World Cup points ranking. Back at the B-team him again the leap was achieved in Sapporo on the fourth. In February, he was second in Oslo on the podium and also in Wisła he celebrated another podium finish in third place.
In the Winter Universiade in 2013 Predazzo he won the bronze medal in the team competition on the normal hill. For ski jumping Continental Cup 2013/14 Mežnar part due to the high power density in the Slovenian team back to the B-team in the Continental and jumped while in all Jumping in January 2014 in the points.
