Monica Theodorescu

Monica Theodorescu ( born March 2, 1963 in Halle (Westfalen )) is the national coach of the German dressage riders. Previously, she was active as a successful dressage rider.

Career

Athlete

Monica Theodorescu had her first show horse named Colorado at the age of 12 years. With him she grew up to Grand Prix level and participated in the European Championships for juniors. Her first major success was winning the Dressage Derby. At age 19, she started for the first time at the CHIO Aachen. Your next horse was lexicon, with whom she won the Junior Championships.

She won with German dressage team at the 1988 Olympics ( with Ganymede ), 1992 ( with Grunox ) and 1996 gold medal. In 1988, she reached the 6th place, 1996 4th place in the individual standings. Trainer

Since October 1, 2012 Theodorescu is the national coach of the German dressage riders. This was in response to Jonny Hilberath, who had taken over the office as acting after the death of Holger Schmezer in April 2012.

Monica Theodorescu still operates its equestrian facility in Sass Mountain Füchtorf. The training of horses is, however, by employees to avoid conflicts of interest with her work as a trainer.

Her parents were also successful riders. Her father George ( born October 1, 1925 in Bucharest † 2007) took in 1956 for Romania at the Olympic games. Her mother Inge Theodorescu, native Fellgiebel (* October 18, 1925, † 11 April 2010) was a jumping and dressage rider, who was briefly married to Hans Günter Winkler. Their father was the German State Stud and hippologist Hans Fellgiebel.

Monica Theodorescu is a qualified translator. Since May 2011 she is married.
