Mulino (settlement), Nizhny Novgorod Oblast

Mulino (Russian Мулино ) is a large settlement in Nizhny Novgorod Oblast (Russia) with 13,008 inhabitants (as of October 14, 2010 ).

Geography

Mulino is located in Rajon Volodarsk, about 70 km west of the Oblasthauptstadt Nizhny Novgorod and 20 km north- west of the Rajonverwaltungszentrums Volodarsk. Although, according to residents of the largest town of Mulino is Rajons, it has the status of a " village-type settlement " ( possjolok ). At Mulino include the hamlets of Dewa, Krasnie Udarniki, Mulino ( the original village ) and Starkowo.

Economy and infrastructure

Mulino is an important location of the Russian armed forces, which maintain extensive training courses in the area of the site and represent the main economic factor. The character of the place as a military settlement are corresponding to 71 percent of the population are male ( 2002).
