Münsterlingen

Munsterlingen is a municipality in the district of Kreuzlingen in the canton of Thurgau in Switzerland.

Geography

Munsterlingen located on Lake Constance between Bottighofen and Altnau and has around 3,000 inhabitants. The village center is located on the southern shore of Lake Constance. The grounds of the monastery Munsterlingen closes east of it.

History

The Political community Munsterlingen consists of the two formerly separate local congregations land battle and Scherzingen and was formed as part of the canton of Thurgau municipality reorganization on 1 January 1994. The name and arms received the Municipality of the old monastery Munsterlingen.

Economy

In ancient times, wine was cultivated on the surrounding slopes, now mainly arable and pasture farming is operated.

Monastery Munsterlingen
