Nangy

Nangy is a commune in the French department of Haute- Savoie department in the Rhône-Alpes region.

Geography

Nangy is located on 476 m above sea level. M., approximately 14 km east-southeast of the city of Geneva (air line). The village is located in the Arve Valley, on a gently sloping south towards the Arve plateau.

The area of ​​4.35 km ² municipal area includes a portion of the lower Arvetals. The southern border is the Arve, which is cut here in a valley about 30 m into the surrounding plateau. From the Arve, the communal land extends northward along the gravel plains of Nangy. At the height at La Coulaz is 530 m above sea level. M. reached the highest elevation of Nangy.

To Nangy include various hamlet settlements, including Boringes (462 m above sea level. M. ) on a hill overlooking the Arve. Neighboring communities of Bonne Nangy are in the north, and Fillinges Contamine -sur -Arve in the east, Scientrier and Reignier- Ésery in the south and Arthaz -Pont -Notre -Dame in the West.

History

The territory of Nangy was already inhabited in Roman times, followed various findings point. In the 13th century Nangy was the center of a small rule.

Attractions

The village church dates from the 17th century. Southeast of the village is the manor Château de Pierre. In Nangy there is a wine museum.

Population

With 1540 inhabitants ( 1 January 2011) Nangy one of the smaller towns in the Haute-Savoie region. Since the early 1960s, a continuous increase in population was recorded. Outside of the old village created numerous family house districts.

Economy and infrastructure
