Geographical location

Newcomers is situated about ten kilometers north of the county town of Pforzheim on a low-water karst plateau, the Bausch Lotter plate, near the Baden and Swabia border.

Community structure

The community of newcomers consists of the former municipalities Bauschlott, Göbrichen and walnut. Among the former municipalities Bauschlott and walnut each include only the villages of the same name. For the former municipality Göbrichen include the village Göbrichen and the homestead Catherine Hof. In the territory of the former municipality Göbrichen is the deserted village Nidlingen. History

Community newbies

On January 1, 1974, the hitherto autonomous communities Bauschlott, walnut and Göbrichen were merged into the municipality of newcomers. The new church name was chosen in reference to the ancient Nidelingen (also Nitlingen, Neidlingen, Neutlingen ). This settlement was located on the boundary Göbrichen, near the present-day nature reserve " Neulinger sinkholes ," south of the hamlet Göbrichen (48 ° 56'30 " north latitude, 8 ° 43'14 " east longitude ).

District Bauschlott

District Göbrichen

Göbrichen with 2,106 inhabitants (as of 30 June 2010) celebrated in 1992 its 900 years of existence. In 1092 it was mentioned as Gebrichingen in Hirsauer Codex for the first time. After a turbulent history of the affiliation of the place came from 1309 all the way to the monastery Herrenalb. District walnut

Walnut with its 1,276 inhabitants (as of 30 June 2010) is the oldest of the three districts mentioned as Nuzboumen in the year 883 in the Lorsch Codex; but leave the remains of a large Roman villa were found near the modern village, close to a much further reaching back settlement history.
