Nick Naumenko

Nicholas "Nick" Naumenko (born 7 July 1974 in Chicago, Illinois ) is an American professional ice hockey player who plays for the SCL Tigers in the Swiss National League A since 2009.

Playing career

The 1.82 m tall defender started his career in the American League Juniors USHL and later the team of University of North Dakota in the play mode of the NCAA. NHL Entry Draft 1992 he was chosen as 182 in the eighth round by the St. Louis Blues ( drafted ).

However, the right-handed shooter has never stood for the Blues in the NHL on the ice, but was only used for tiefklassigeren farm team. After several years in the AHL and the IHL Naumenko moved to season 2002 /03 DEL record champion Adler Mannheim. After a year he moved to the league rivals Kassel Huskies, which he, however, after 23 games of the season left towards North America. In the following years he played for various clubs in the AHL, but never managed to play in the NHL.

During the season 2006/ 07, the Americans moved to Switzerland for HC Ambri -Piotta. The playing time he finished the EHC Biel, with whom he played the play-offs in the National League B. For the following season Naumenko returned but then again back to the HCAP. In the following two seasons, he missed the HCAP each the playoffs and had to instead compete in the play- outs. But in this, the team could always realize the league.

Shortly before the beginning of the season 2009/10 Naumenko received a contract for first two months at the SCL Tigers.
