Nivollet - Montgriffon is a commune of 135 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Ain ​​, in the Rhône -Alpes.

Geography

Nivollet - Montgriffon is located on 744 m above sea level. Level, about 30 kilometers southeast of the city of Bourg -en- Bresse ( straight line ) in the southern French Jura Mountains. History

Up until the French Revolution Montgriffon and Nivollet were two separate lands. Nivoletum was first mentioned in 1213 as part of the possessions of the powerful Benedictine abbey of Saint -Rambert.
