History

The name Oberhaching goes as Unterhaching, the Hachinger valley and the Hachinger Bach, a settlement Baiuvarii back, which was founded by the Bavarians Prince Hacho.

The Celts numerous hills in the municipality, however, prove a much earlier settlement. The strategic location on the expansion of the Gleißentales, a former glacial trough of Gleißentals with the Hachinger Bach, in the vast Hachinger valley and the Munich gravel plain explains the continuous colonization history. Here fresh water and solid, dry and flood- resistant floor was lying close together available. The Roman road from Salzburg to Augsburg crossed the Gleißental at this point.

Additionally, at the Kyberg, a Gleißental the protruding ridge, a view down into the plain. Here are remains of a Stone Age settlement and also the residence of a prince is suspected of bajuwarischer time. Today, there is the City Hall.

The first mention of Haching is found in a deed of gift to the monastery abbot Petto Schaeftlarn from the year 806 Deisenhofen is mentioned in a donation to the monastery of Tegernsee under Abbot Eberhard ( 1068-1091 ), Furth in the will of the Count Palatine Friedrich von Wittelsbach from the year 1172nd Since Haching also court was held ( documented in 1003 ) was around the turn of the millennium here a local center, which by the burgeoning Munich lost its significance until later.

Geologically, to explain the Gleißental by the upcoming conglomerate rock. In this tough, durable material formed during the Ice Age, a glacial trough, which used to Isar flowed until they had dug a new bed in green forest. In the Middle Ages the ideal material found in this conglomerate rock for the foundations of the Munich Frauenkirche.

The oldest architectural remains in Oberhaching can be found in the original Romanesque fortified church of St. Stephan. From the surrounding wooden huts of the peasants, nothing is received. The oldest still existing rural wooden houses (such as the Wagner house ) date from the 19th century. The present building adjacent to the primary school Oberhaching is more than 125 years, the oldest still made use of the school building in the Munich area.

New impetus was given to the site by the construction of the railway. Since 1856, there is a railway line from Munich's main train station on the Großhesseloher bridge to Deisenhofen and on to wooden churches. In 1898, the second track from Deisenhofen along the valley Hachinger about Taufkirchen and Unterhaching was opened to Munich Ost station.

Thus, the development of the previously rural village was mapped to a suburb of Munich. Today, less than 10 % of the population in agriculture (primary sector) busy while the secondary sector with commuters in the industrial plants in Munich and the tertiary sector services locally or also dominated as a commuter.

Accordingly, the population of Oberhaching with Deisenhofen and Furth of 517 in 1840, over 875 developed in 1880 and 2000 in 1925 to today has a population of 13,000.

1925 Deisenhofener post office of Robert Vorhoelzer and Fritz Norkauer was built.

In order to preserve the transportation infrastructure of the Oberbiberg, the BibergerBürgerBus (short BBB), which was initiated by citizens in 2004 and is operated purely honorary, was established.

Oberhaching has evolved due to the excellent transport connections to Munich as well as the peaceful village setting and a place of residence for persons known: including Klaus Rauscher, Prof. Friedrich Prinz, Hans Sauer, Ernst von Khuon, Prof. Albert usury, Prof. Ernst vines table, Christian Tröger and chamber singer Andrej Kucharsky.

From Oberhaching came Johann Rattenhuber (1897-1957), during World War II last lieutenant general of police.
