Oleg Mikulchik

Aleh Antonawitsch Mikultschyk (White Russian Алег Антонавіч Мікульчык, Russian Олег Антонович Микульчик / Oleg Antonovich Mikultschik; born June 21, 1964 in Minsk, Byelorussian SSR ) is a retired Belarusian professional ice hockey in his career, including for the Winnipeg Jets and Mighty Ducks of Anaheim has played in the National Hockey League, as well as the Nürnberg Ice Tigers of the Deutsche Eishockey Liga. Since end of his career he has worked as a coach.

Career

Aleh Mikultschyk began his career as a hockey player at youth level of HK Dynamo Moscow, for the first team, he was active in the highest Soviet league from 1983 to 1991. During this time he won the Soviet championship with Dynamo in 1990 and 1991. For the 1991/92 season the defender moved to Chimik Woskressensk for which, however, he only played 15 games before he was hired by the Winnipeg Jets. For this he gave in the 1993/94 season his debut in the National Hockey League, where he gave a presentation in four games. During his time in the franchise of the jets he came mainly for their farm team of the American Hockey League, the New Haven Nighthawks, Moncton Hawks and Springfield Falcons, are used. In the summer of 1995, the White Russian signed a contract with the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim, for which he played eight more games in the NHL. The rest of the time he spent at their farm team, the Baltimore Bandits of the AHL and the Long Beach Ice Dogs and Fort Wayne Komets of the International Hockey League.

After he was employed in the previous year only in the IHL, signed Mikultschik for the 1997/98 season at the Nuremberg Ice Tigers of the Deutsche Eishockey Liga. For this, he scored four goals in 41 games and gave 15 assists. Then he moved to HK Metallurg Magnitogorsk of the Russian Super League. With this he won the 1999 and 2000 the European Hockey League and was in the 1998/99 season also Champion of Russia. From 2000 to 2002, the right-handed shooter Krylia Sovetov Moscow and for his former club Chimik Woskressensk stood in the subprime Wysschaja league on the ice. The season 2002/ 03 he spent again in the Super League Mechel Chelyabinsk at HK and Neftekhimik Nizhnekamsk. From 2003 to 2007 Mikultschyk stood in the Belarusian Extraliga in his hometown at HK Junost Minsk and its domestic rivals HK Dinamo Minsk under contract. With Junost he was in 2004 and 2005 respectively Belarusian champions, and in 2004 Cup Winners' Cup. With Dinamo he won after the Cup victory in 2006 at the end of his career in the season 2006/ 07 once the Belarusian championship. He then ended his professional career at the age of 42 years.

Subsequently Mikultschyk assistant coach at HK Dinamo and worked until 2008 parallel as assistant coach of the Belarusian national team. In the 2010/11 season, he supervised full-time, both the U20 national team of Belarus, as well as the MHL junior team of HC Dinamo Minsk. In the season 2011/12 Mikultschyk is head coach of the second team of HK Donbass Donetsk with whom he won the 2012 Ukrainian Championship. Since 2013 Mikultschyk is again an assistant coach at HK Dinamo.

Internationally

For the Soviet Union Mikultschik took part in the World Youth Championship in 1984. For Belarus, he participated in the World Championships in 1998, 1999, 2001 and 2005. In addition, he was in the squad of Belarus at the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, as well as the qualification for those Winter Games and the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin.
