Opolany

Opolany ( German United Opolan ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located nine kilometers east of Poděbrady and belongs to fulltext your real estates.

Geography

Opolany is located on the right bank of the Cidlina between the river and the Sansky kanál on the East Bohemian panel. To the north rises the Oškobrh. In the southeast of the railway line Velky Osek - Trutnov, which crosses the Cidlina here goes. The railway station " Sány " located in the corridors of Opolánky. South leads past the D 11/Europastraße 67 highway.

Neighboring towns are Vlkov pod Oškobrhem and Kolaje in the north, Oškobrh in the northeast, Opolánky in the east, in the southeast Sány, Volárna and Velky Osek in the south, Kanin in the southwest, Libice nad Cidlinou in the west and Mlýnek and Odřepsy in the northwest.

History

The first written mention of Opolely took place in 1228, when the village along with Libice nad Cidlinou, Kanin and Oldříš as possession of the Benedictine Monastery of St.. George was named to the Prague Castle. In the Hussite Wars Opolany came in 1420 into secular hands and was pledged by Emperor Sigismund in 1437 to Georg von Podiebrad, who joined his reign Podiebrad. George of Podiebrad left in 1450 to create the Sansky kanál, who served the water supply of Poděbrady fish ponds, especially of Blato. In 1487 Opolany was together with Kanin and Sány part of the rule Kolin.

After the abolition of patrimonial Veliké Opolany / Great Oppolan formed in 1850 a municipality in the district Poděbrady. 1870 took the train from Great Wossek after Wostromer on the traffic. At the end of the 19th century, the names Velké Opolany and Dolné Opolany were used. About the corridors of rabbit leads the motorway D 11, which was released on the section to Hradec Králové on 20 December 2006 for traffic. At the beginning of 2008, the municipality had 838 inhabitants, of whom 428 lived in Opolany, 187 in rabbits, 162 in Opolánky and 61 in Oškobrh.

The municipality consists of the villages Opolany rabbit ( rabbit ), Opolánky (small Opolan ) Opolany ( United Opolan ) and Oškobrh ( Lustdorf ) and the settlements Badra and Podbřezí.
