Os Østerdalen is a municipality in Hedmark Norway Fylke near the mountain town of Røros.

Geography and Economics

Os is the northernmost municipality in Hedmark Fylke and is bordered to the northwest by the municipality Tynset, in the northeast of Røros (county Sør -Trøndelag ), to the southeast by Engerdal and on the southwest by Tolga. The municipality comprises the transversely to Glomma lying valleys Vangrøftdalen, Nøradalen and Tufsindalen, with a small stretch of coastline of the lake Femund. Apart from the main town of Os sentrum, which is 14 km from the hill town of Røros Glomma, the community still consists of the villages Dalsbygda, Narjordet, Narbuvoll and Tufsingdalen.

The 1039 km ² of its territory is 63% mountains. The rest is dominated by spruce and birch forests and grasslands. Only 3% are cultivated for agriculture. History

Landmarks, tourism
