Our Georgia – Free Democrats

Our Georgia - Free Democrats (Georgian ჩვენი საქართველო - თავისუფალი დემოკრატები ) is a political party in Georgia. It was founded on July 16, 2009. The Chairman is the former Georgian ambassador to the UN Irakli Alasania. The party was in opposition to the autocratic regime of Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili.

The party wants to strengthen the individual freedom of the citizens. The primary goals of respect for justice, the restoration of the rule of law and the establishment of democratic institutions to ensure the fundamental human rights in Georgia. A political influence of the state on the media will be rejected.

Economic policy are to small and medium enterprises are encouraged. The corruption must overcome political pressure are taken from the premises. Essential also is a modern labor according to European standards, which protect the rights of workers. The development of agriculture is to be driven by a billion-dollar fund. Horticulture in the villages should be promoted.

In foreign policy, the party stands for integration into NATO and the European Union. At the same time, relations with Russia should be improved. Health policy advocates the Party for the introduction of a statutory health insurance and price controls in health care.

Before the parliamentary elections in Georgia, 2012, the party joined the opposition coalition Georgian Dream.
