Paris Air Show

The Paris Air Show Paris or Aérosalon (French Salon international de l' aéronautique et de l' espace, English Paris Air Show ) is an international air show at Le Bourget airport near Paris. The exhibition with many exhibits held every two years (all years with odd -year figures since 1949) in June, always alternating with the Farnborough International Airshow held. The 50th Salon du Bourget was aligned in Le Bourget from 17 to 23 June 2013.

The Paris Air Show is a commercial event, which is organized by the Groupement des Industries Françaises aéronautiques et spatiales ( GIFAS ). It is one of the most important air shows in the world.

In Germany in 2 -year cycle, the International Aviation and Aerospace Exhibition (ILA ) in Berlin.

History

The history of the Paris Air Show dates back to the first decade of the 20th century. In 1908, an air show was held as part of the regularly organized since 1898 Paris Motor Show. From these beginnings, the first independent Paris Air Show, which was first opened as the " Exposition Internationale de la Locomotion Aérienne " on 25 September 1909,. The event was the " Chambre Syndicale des Industries Aéronautiques ". By 1949, the fair was held at the Grand Palais. During the First World War, the Air Show from 1914 to 1918 has been suspended. By 1924, the event was held annually, starting this year, a two-year cycle was introduced at the 9th salon which is still maintained today. 1938 took over the " Union Syndicale des Industries Aéronautiques " the role of the organizer. The air show was from 1939 to 1945 again interrupted by the Second World War. At the 18th Salon in 1949, an air show at Orly airport was first performed during the show; thereby caused to postponed the date to the spring, a change that extends to the present day as well. Since the 20th Salon 1953, the Le Bourget airport serves as a venue. In 1959 the exhibition was complemented by a space section; since 26 Salon 1963, the event takes its currently valid name.

Paris Air Show 2011

The 49th Salon du Bourget took place from 20 to 26 June 2011 in Le Bourget instead. As a special guest Solar Impulse was the first prototype of the solar airplane (HB- SIA ) on site.

Paris Air Show 2009

The 48th Salon du Bourget ran from 15 to 21 June 2009 Le Bourget, was used by exhibitors from 46 countries to present.

Paris Air Show 2007

The following orders and preliminary agreements have been concluded between the four major aircraft manufacturers and airlines between the 18th and 24th of June 2007:

Airbus

1 This is so-called Memorandum of Understanding ( MoUs), ie preliminary, yet do not constitute a binding agreement. In general, such preliminary contracts are converted into firm orders within a few months.
