Pretty Bayou is a census -designated place (CDP ) in Bay County in the U.S. state of Florida with 3,206 inhabitants ( 2010).

Geography

Pretty Bayou is directly adjacent to the city of Panama City and is located about 160 km southwest of Tallahassee. The CDP 327, 368, 390 and 391 crosses or touches of the Florida State Roads.

Demographics

According to the 2010 census, the then 3,206 inhabitants distributed to 1,488 households. The population density was 728.6 inh. / Km ². 91.5 % of the population were white, 3.1% African American, 0.4% Native American and 1.8 % Asian Americans. 0.8 % were members of other ethnic groups and 2.2% in different ethnic groups. 3.3% of the population were Hispanic or Latino.

In 2010, children under the age of 18 and 38.2 % of all households lived in 24.4 % of all households with persons at least 65 years. 70.3 % of households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or a parent with offspring ). The average size of a household was 2.36 persons and the average family size is 2.77 people.

19.8% of the population were younger than 20 years, 17.4% were 20-39 years old, 29.1% were 40-59 years old and 33.7 % were at least 60 years old. The median age was 50 years. 49.6 % of the population were male and 50.4 % female.

The average annual income was $ 58,864, while 6.5 % of the population lived below the poverty line.

In 2000, English was the mother tongue of 98.91 % of the population spoke French 0.62% and 0.47 % spoke Spanish.
