Prężyna

Great Pramsen (Polish: Prężyna ) is a town in Upper Silesia. Great Pramsen located in the municipality Zülz ( Biała) in Prudnicki powiat (district Neustadt OS) in the Polish Opole Voivodeship.

Geographical Location

Great Pramsen located four kilometers southwest of the municipal center Zülz, eight kilometers northeast of the county town Prudnik ( Neustadt OS) and 39 kilometers southwest of the Opole voivodship ( Opole ).

Neighboring towns of Great Pramsen are in the northwest Mühlsdorf ( Milowice ), in the north Waschelwitz ( Wasiłowice ), in the north- east and east of the city Zülz and south Prężynka (small Pramsen ).

History

The town was first mentioned in 1222 as " Pransinam ".

In the plebiscite in Upper Silesia on March 20, 1921 was Great Pramsen outside the voting area. By 1945, the place was in the district of Neustadt OS

In 1945 the previously German place under Polish administration and renamed Prężyna and joined the Silesian Voivodeship. In 1950, the city came to Opole Voivodeship. In 1999 the place to powiat Prudnicki. On 6 March 2006 German was in the community Zülz, the majority belongs Pramsen, introduced as a second official language. On 24 November 2008, the City also received the official German place names are case Pramsen.
