Prix Médicis
The Prix Médicis is a French literary prize. It was founded in 1958 by Gala Barbisan and Jean-Pierre Giraudoux to honor French-language novels or stories of young promising and original authors. Since 1970, a prize for foreign-language novels since 1985 and is awarded a prize for essays.
By the year 2007, the Prix Médicis were on the first Wednesday of the month of November in Paris, Hôtel de Crillon - awarded since 2008 the ceremony usually two days later at the Hôtel Lutetia place - on the same day as the Prix Femina.
