Quillan

Quillan is a commune in the Arrondissement Limoux in the Aude department in the Languedoc- Roussillon region in the foothills of the Pyrenees. It has 3249 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011).

History

Quillan was a prominent town on the road between Carcassonne and Perpignan in the Middle Ages. Across the River Aude wood and other local products to Carcassonne and the Canal du Midi were spent.
