Roquetaillade

Roquetaillade is a southern French village with 211 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the Aude department in the Languedoc- Roussillon region.

Location

Roquetaillade lies at an altitude of about 340 meters above sea level. inst west of the river Aude about 35 km ( driving distance ) south-west of Carcassonne and about ten kilometers south of Limoux. Couiza, the capital of Canton, located about ten kilometers south-east; the village of Rennes- le -Château is another five miles away.

Demographics

After the place had reached a population of over 500 in the mid-19th century, the population decreased due to the phylloxera crisis towards the end of the century, from just over 300.
