Recreativo de Huelva

Real Club Recreativo de Huelva is a Spanish football club based in Huelva. The club was founded on 23 December 1889, is the oldest football club in Spain.

History

Recreativo de Huelva was founded on 23 December 1889 by Alexander McKay and British miners Rio Tinto Group. Gimnàstic de Tarragona was indeed founded in 1886, but until 1914 could have an official football team. On March 8, 1890, the first official football match took place in Seville in Tablada Hippodrome. The team of Recreativo de Huelva kicked Colonia Inglesa Sevillana, a team of British workers to. Up to two Spanish players on the side of Huelva, all players were of British origin. The selection of Seville decided this game 2-0 for itself.

Trofeo Colombino
