Resh#Arabic r.C4.81.CA.BE

Rā ʾ, راء, is the tenth letter of the Arabic alphabet, and ( as Re), the twelfth of the Persian. It was derived from the Phoenician Resch and thus related to the Latin R, the Greek and the Hebrew Rho Resch. He is assigned the value 200.

Phonetic value and inscription

The Ra corresponds to the " tongues -R " as such as the Spanish found in some German dialects, and in some foreign languages. It is clear from the " uvular R " to distinguish, as this is also available in the Arabian sound in the form of Ghain. In the DMG romanization Ra is played with "r".

The Ra is a sun letter, that is, a preceding al - ( definite article ) is assimilated.
