Reuth, Saxony

Reuth is a municipality in the Vogtland. With the community Weischlitz it forms the administrative community Weischlitz in Vogtland in Saxony. The place name derives " cleared " of starting and indicates the origin of the place.

Geography

Reuth after Mühltroff the second westernmost municipality in the Free State of Saxony.

Adjacent communities are Rosenbach / Vogtl. and Weischlitz in the Vogtland district and the cities Gefell and Tanna in the Thuringian Saale- Orla-Kreis. Not far away is the Bavarian border with the communities Feilitzsch and Töpen in the district court.

Policy

Mayor

Since 2002 Ulrich Lupart is (DSU ), the current honorary mayor of the community unit Reuth. In 2009 Lupart was confirmed with 93.7 % of the votes cast in office.

Memorials

In the local cemetery, the burial and a memorial to the resistance fighters Robert Schroeder, who was in a concentration camp in 1936 killed remember.

Economy and infrastructure

Reuth has a rail passenger transportation, served by the Vogtlandbahn railway station on the route Leipzig -Hof.
