Río Chico Department, Tucumán

The department Río Chico is located in the southwestern province of Tucumán in northwestern Argentina, and is one of 17 administrative units in the province.

It is bordered to the north by the Departamento Chicligasta, on the east by the department of Simoca, to the south by the Department of Juan Bautista Alberdi and to the west by the province of Catamarca.

The capital and urban center of the department is Aguilares.
