Robert Keith (actor)

Robert Keith, actually Robert Keith Richey, ( born February 10, 1898 in Fowler (Indiana), † December 22, 1966 in Los Angeles ) was an American actor and playwright.

Life

Robert Keith was a character actor in theater and film. 1927 Hollywood became aware of him when he had success with his play The Tightwed on Broadway. With the advent of the talkies, he was engaged to Hollywood for processing of dialogues and performed in 1930 for the first time as an actor in films. However, Keith went back to New York in 1932, where he again played a theater and wrote plays. Only after the Second World War, he returned to the film city, where he has appeared in numerous supporting roles of some outstanding film and played numerous roles for television. He puts in the series The Fugitive the father of Dr. Kimble (played by David Janssen ) dar. Robert Keith was married three times. From his second marriage to theater actress Helena Shipman comes from his son Brian Keith, who also was a successful actor.
