Game play

The goal of each scenario, depending on the type usually is to achieve a combination of certain number of visits, Park assessment and / or market value or some sales. Sometimes you have to build different types of roller coaster with a specific value ( thrill / excitement rate, G - force, etc.). In the park there is a large range of attractions, finished or self-built roller coasters rides to bumper cars, water rides and pedal boats. In addition, catering and other stalls to supply the visitors, as well as several souvenir stalls, are erected. Paths, planting and the like. are subject to be created and removed, the terrain can be raised, lowered and texture are changed. In designing the amusement parks there is essentially boils down to, to keep the balance between moderately exciting attractions such as carousels, intense roller coasters, neat and aesthetic recreation areas and the different consumption and other items to keep a wide audience permanently in the park until it has spent all his available money. Also helpful is a simple way system, since visitors can get lost otherwise. Without carefully employed mechanics, security guards and assistants to the park can also be quickly unattractive and less visited.

The simulated by the computer park visitors all have an individual preference when it comes to adrenaline needs, wallet and stomach strength. The player can query the thoughts and values such as hunger, satisfaction and nausea of any visitor at any time and draw conclusions on possible improvements. Many highly satisfied visitors who have spent everything on leaving the park, are a sign of a well-thought, demand-oriented park.

An appeal of the game is that game progresses always explored new attractions and thus are available, the research budget and the priorities can be set.

In all this, the player should his account not ignore, accidents or bad weather can negate him a spanner in the works and its plans.

Attractions

In RCT, there are seven different attraction groups (shops do not count, they are in the game its own group ):

  • Transport rides are for example attractions such as the miniature railway or road cars to take visitors from A to B. There are also some transport pathways that drive on water.
  • Moderate attractions for visitors rather boring, meaningful only at the beginning of the scenario attractions. They include the slip spiral or the bumper cars.
  • Children tracks are designed primarily for underage visitors who do not yet dare to extreme attractions in or webs. Here you will find, for example, slower rides.
  • Rollercoasters, there are at Rollercoaster Tycoon in many different variants. The variety ranges from wood Raging on mouse up to the steel frame roller coaster. Roller coasters bring a lot of money, but it should be ensured that the coasters not be " too exciting ". There are also certain water rides, how to find tree trunk slide or inflatables.
  • Exciting rides are next to Twister and swing boat and Space gyroscope or top-spin. The rides also prepare not hardy visitors always a lot of fun and a reason to leave money there.
  • Water rides: In addition to boat rentals, which yields the most profit without predetermined distance, there is, for example, swan boats.
  • Other tracks: Here attractions are summarized, which can be clearly assigned to any other group. These are for example Towers or go-karts.
  • Shops and stalls not only ensure the physical well-being of visitors. In addition to various stalls for food and drinks and toilets, information stands or gift shops can be built.

The following attractions are only available on RCT3 with the " Soaked! " available.

  • Swimming pools are, when they are built exciting, a true source of money, as it makes it much easier to attract a few hundred visitors. Optional extras for swimming pools or hot tubs include diving boards. Similarly, among the pools indirectly the water slides to it ( see below). To ensure the provision of bathing facilities, it is recommended that the appropriate shops near the changing rooms ( hereby visitors can reach the bathing facility ) to build.
  • Water slides are like roller coasters managed and built, but can only be reached by swimming pools and the use is for park visitors always free. Water slides can be both built open, that is the final piece ends in a swimming pool or as a closed path like roller coasters. Regardless of the design is to make sure that the slide is not too extreme.

The following attractions are only available on RCT3 with the " Wild! " available.

  • Animals belong to the Zooelementen. These are fenced areas where, for example, elephants, tigers, ... live and can be admired by the viewers on viewing platforms. In addition, there are special transport paths by which the park visitors can directly enter the Zoobereiche.
