Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Trani-Barletta-Bisceglie

The Archdiocese of Trani - Barletta- Bisceglie (Latin: Archidioecesis Tranensis - Barolensis - Vigiliensis, Italian: Arcidiocesi di Trani - Barletta- Bisceglie ) is a located in Italy Roman Catholic archdiocese based in Trani.

History

The Archdiocese of Trani - Barletta- Bisceglie was built in the 3rd century as the Diocese of Trani. In the 11th century the diocese was elevated to an archdiocese of Trani. The bishoprics of Andria and Trani Bisceglie were the Archdiocese assumed as suffragan. 1424 the Archdiocese of Trani, the territory of the dissolved Salpi diocese was annexed. The Archdiocese of Trani was from 1523 parts of its territory to the re-establishment of the diocese Salpi. 1547 the diocese Salpi was redissolved and the territory was annexed to the archbishopric of Trani.

On June 27, 1818 the Archdiocese of Trani was affiliated with the Diocese of Bisceglie.
