The diocese of Alessandria (Latin: Dioecesis Alexandrinus Statiellorum, Italian: Diocese of Alessandria) is located in Italy Roman Catholic diocese based in Alessandria.

History

The diocese of Alessandria was founded in 1175 by Pope Alexander III. built. In 1213 the diocese of Alessandria was dissolved. On April 15, 1405 Diocese of Alexandria was built again by Pope Innocent VII.

1803, the diocese of Alessandria was disbanded once more, and the territory was the bishopric of Casale Monferrato affiliated. On July 17, 1817, the Diocese of Alexandria was built again by Pope Pius VII, with the Apostolic Constitution Beati Petri.

The diocese of Alessandria is the Archdiocese of Vercelli is a suffragan.
