Geographical location

Rüdershausen is located in the north-eastern edge of the lower Eichsfeld at the Rhume whose water's edge in Rahmem from the nature reserve Rhumeaue / Ellerniederung / Giller Heimer stream valley is here under protection. The community belongs to the Samtgemeinde Gieboldehausen, which has its administrative headquarters in the spots Gieboldehausen.

History

The first mention of Rüdershausen falls in the 13th century. At that time, in a document from the year 1230, the Counts of Everstein appoint a Mr Basil of Rüdershausen as witnesses. In the 14th century the place, and the other villages of the Office Gieboldehausen fell to Electoral Mainz. The high court was then held three times a year in Rüdershausen. In a recording from 1824, which is referred to as " Gaussian country recording " can be seen, that lay in the center of the township of Anger. From him the most important buildings of the town, the Catholic Church of St. Andrew went out with the rectory, the school and the "common Schenk house". This coat of arms originates from the local legend of the so-called " Mahnehund ". In addition, the love and connection to the dog should come as watchful and faithful companion of the peasant and the artisan to express.

Parish Church of St. Andrew

Today's Catholic Parish Church, which was realized in the years 1867-1869 in neo-Gothic style by the Hildesheim architect Wilhelm daughter man who presents himself as the successor built before 1800 Holy Cross Church. Tilly Oak

The Klus

Between Rüdershausen and Duderstadt is a small chapel, which is commonly called " The Klus ". It houses a Fatima Madonna, was built after the previous Klus was demolished on Klusweg in 1885.

Rüdershausen is via various highways with State Road 27, which connected to the road network from Göttingen to Herzberg am Harz, and the federal highway 247 Northeim to Duderstadt.
