Rudy Boschwitz

Rudolph Ely " Rudy " joke Bosch ( born November 7, 1930 in Berlin) is an American businessman and politician. From December 1978 to January 1991 he was a U.S. Senator for the state of Minnesota.

Life

Bosch joke comes from a Jewish family, with whom he already fled as a small child from Nazi Germany to the United States. He grew up in New Rochelle, New York. After graduation he attended the Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore and the Stern School of Business and New York University School of Law in New York City, where he graduated in 1953 as Bachelor of Laws. 1953-54 he served in the U.S. Army Signal Corps. In 1963 he founded in Minnesota the plywood manufacturers Plywood Minnesota ( Home Valu Interiors today ).

From 1971 to 1978 Bosch joke was represented in the Republican National Committee. In November 1978, he was for the Republican Party (Independent -Republican Party ) elected to the Senate. The departure of predecessor Wendell Anderson, he took his place one already from 30 November 1978. After a successful re-election he lost in 1990 against Democratic challenger Paul Wellstone. In 1991, he was employed as an emissary by U.S. President George Bush to negotiate lead in Operation Solomon. In 1996 he joined again in the elections to the Senate against Paul Wellstone, but lost significantly. Since then he shall carry out tasks in different organizations and delegations; among other things, he was in 2005 as the successor of Richard S. Williamson American representative at the UN Human Rights Commission.

Bosch joke is married to Ellen Antoinette Loewenstein since 1956. They have four sons.
