Sam Chuk District
Amphoe Sam Chuk ( Thai: อำเภอ สามชุก, [ să ː m ʧúk ] ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district ) of the province of Suphanburi. The Suphanburi province is located in the western part of central Thailand.
Geography
The neighboring Amphoe are clockwise from the North: Amphoe Bang Nang Buat Doem Suphanburi province, in the east of Amphoe Sawaeng Ha is Ang Thong province, in the south and west are the Amphoe Si Prachan, Don Chedi and Nong Ya Sai province of Suphanburi.
The main water resource of Sam Chuk is the Maenam Tha Chin ( Tha Chin River ), also called Maenam Suphan ( Suphan River ).
History
The name of the district was originally Nang Buat. In 1911, the government separated a part of Nang Buat to Amphoe Bang Nang Buat Doem set. They moved at the same time the county government to Ban Sam Pheng in Tambon Sam Chuk. In 1939 the district was renamed after the central tambon in Sam Chuk.

Management
The district Sam Chuk is divided into eight subdistricts (tambon ).
Sam Chuk ( Tha: เทศบาล ตำบล สามชุก ) is the only place in the district with a small-town status ( thesaban tambon), which parts of the tambon Sam Chuk, Yanyao and Kra Siao contains.
In addition, there are six " Tambon Administrative Organizations" (TAO, องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - administrative organizations) in the district.
