Saskatoon Sheiks

The Saskatoon Sheiks were a Canadian ice hockey team from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. The team played 1921-1933, among others, in the Western Canada Hockey League.

History

The franchise was founded in 1921 under the name Saskatoon Crescents as a member of the inaugural Western Canada Hockey League. Her premiere season ended the team in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, woe it from 3 February played as Moose Jaw Crescents. However, already for the season 1922/23, they returned to Saskatoon and played from 1923 under the name Saskatoon Sheiks. In the WCHL they played was total until the league disbanded five years. From 1926 to 1928, the Sheiks competed in the Prairie Hockey League. Then the team was inactive for four years before it was reactivated for the season 1932/33, as Saskatoon Crescents and moved into the once discharged Western Canada Hockey League.
