Seeon-Seebruck

Seebruck is a community in the Upper Bavarian district of Traunstein. It lies north of Lake Chiemsee Chiemgau. It consists of three formerly independent municipalities: Seebruck, Seeon and Truchtlaching.

There are the following districts: Seebruck, Seeon, Truchtlaching. Seebruck located at the outflow of the Alz on the north shore of Lake Chiemsee, Seeon on a small lake district around 4 km to the north of Lake Chiemsee. The community part Truchtlaching is approximately 5 km north of Lake Chiemsee at the Alz.

History

Seeon was first mentioned in the year 924 with the founding of the Benedictine monastery Seeon and belonged as a closed Hofmark to 1803 under the jurisdiction of the monastery.

Seebruck was 50 AD and was in Roman times under the name Bedaium an important place. He served as a base on the trunk road from Salzburg to Augsburg and was shown as such in the Tabula Peutingeriana. The parish church of St. Thomas and St. Stephan was built from 1474 to 1478 and stands on the site of the former Roman fort.

The Truchtlachinger local nobles were ministeriales of the Archbishop of Salzburg and the Count Palatine of Craiburg. In 1347 they were given the right collection of customs duties on the Alzbrücke. Later Truchtlaching was a closed Hofmark the monastery tree castle, which was resolved with him in 1803.

Seebruck, Seeon and Truchtlaching were in 1818 in the course of administrative reform in the Kingdom of Bavaria independent political communities. As part of local government reform it came on 1 January 1980 to merge the three communities.

Economy and infrastructure

Economy

It was in 1998 according to official statistics in the field of Agriculture and Forestry 22, 479 in manufacturing and in trade and transport 80 persons work at the workplace.   • Herbert ride Linger (1909-1978), writer, lived from 1950 at a vineyard in Seeon.
  • Judith Steinbacher (* 1946), graphic artist and children's book author, daughter of Herbert and Marianne ride Linger, grew up in Seeon.
  • Stefan Dettl ( born 1981 ), musician and frontman of the group Labrassbanda, lives in Truchtlaching.
