Geographical location
Vachendorf lies in the planning region of southeastern Upper Bavaria in the Chiemgau.

History
The village Vachendorf was first documented in the Breves Notitiae in the year 790. The first documentary attestation of the parish was Vachendorf 1188-1191. Vachendorf belonged to Rentamt Burghausen and the District Court Traunstein the Electorate of Bavaria. The community Vachendorf emerged with the municipality edict in Bavaria in 1818 and went in 1978 with the neighboring municipality of Bergen in administrative matters one, however, has remained an independent municipality.
Incorporations
On 1 May 1978, a small part of the dissolved municipality Haslach was incorporated with at that time little more than 100 inhabitants.

Economy, agriculture and forestry
It was in 1998 according to official statistics in the field of agriculture and forestry 9, 86 in manufacturing and in trade and transport 17 persons work at the workplace. The best known representative Vachendorfs is a native of Traunstein and for the SC Vachendorf in the Cross Country World Cup launching overall winner in 2006 and 2007, Tobias Angerer.
