Å kofljica

Škofljica (German: Woman mountain in Ljubljana ) is a municipality in the Lower Carniola region of Slovenia.

Location and population

In the overall community consisting of 32 villages and hamlets, 8,282 people live. The main town Škofljica has 1,988 inhabitants and is situated at an altitude of 305 m. The community is located 10 km southeast of the capital Ljubljana (German: Laibach ) barje the southeastern edge of Ljubljansko, the Ljubljana Marshes.

History

The area has been inhabited since ancient times, as evidenced by excavations in Molnik. In Ljubljana Marshes is also found remains of Pile dwellings. Your age is estimated at 6000 years.
