Streetlife Serenade is the third studio album by American musician Billy Joel and also the second collaboration between the artist and the label, Columbia Records.
Publication
After the huge success of its predecessor Piano Man " Streetlife Serenade " was released on 11 October 1974. However, the album could not repeat the success of its predecessor and also received poorer reviews, which ushered in the beginning of a tense relationship between Joel and the critics and the music industry. The criticism of Joel on entire business is clearly in the play The Entertainer in which makes the musician about the callousness of those responsible in relation to the work and the feelings of the artist funny. Joel pulls in this song also directly related to the release of his single Piano Man, by those responsible on the grounds that it was too long, was cut before the release:
