Swedish Bandy Association

The Bandyförbundet Svenska ( SBF ) is the national Bandyverband in Sweden. It was founded on April 5, 1925 in Stockholm and was a founding member of the 1955 Bandy World Federation Federation of International Bandy (FIB ).

History

Before the foundation of the association organizing the Bandy was the object of the national football association Svenska Fotbollförbundet in Sweden.

The Svenska Bandyförbundet was founded on April 5, 1925 in Stockholm and had to start 49 clubs as members. The first chairman was the 39- year-old doctor Sune Almkvist, who led the organization until 1950. On August 26, 1925, was admitted to the Riksidrottsförbundet. A year later were 198 clubs in the association. This number continued to rise and reached the beginning of the 1950s with 863 clubs climax. Then, the number dropped to 670 in 1975 and 334 in 2004. The Association was in 1955 a founding member of the World Federation FIB. By July 2008, the Association had its headquarters in Katrine Holm, but then moved to the capital.

The Bandy World Championship taught Sweden in 1963, 1969, 1971, 1979, 1987, 1997, 2001 (together with Finland), 2004, 2006, 2009 and 2013. The Bandy World Championship for Women in 2008 also took place in Sweden.

National

The Swedish Bandynationalmannschaft of Lords applies after the Russian selection as the best in the world. By 2014, the team won the World Championship eleven times, and 16 silver and seven bronze medals.

The Swedish Bandynationalmannschaft the ladies won all six World Championships and 2012 discharged from the Russian selection.
