Bandy World Championship 1969

The 6th Bandy World Championship was held in Sweden from 8 February to 16 February 1969. The Soviet Union was undefeated world champion.

After 1963 Sweden was the World Cup already from the second time.

The Norwegian team did not take due to the crushing of the Prague Spring by Soviet troops in the tournament. Already in 1957, abandoned Norway to participate in the World Cup, after the Soviet Union had put down the Hungarian national uprising.

The World Cup was played in the group system. To get to six games despite the absence of Norway, a round-trip round was held. Thus, each team met twice in succession.

Venues

Each game was held at a different location. The other venues were Vänersborg, Lidköping, Nässjö, Örebro, Katrine Holm and Uppsala.
