Bandy World Championship for men

Men's World Championships Bandy will be played by the World Association FIB since 1957.

After the second World Cup in Bandy took place four years after the first, the World Cup every two years, has been played since 1961. Since 2003, every year there will be a World Cup.

Due to increasing numbers of participants and a B- group will be played in 1991, 2012, for the first time a C - group. 2013 was played back in the mode with an A and a B- World Cup. 2014 a higher ranking A group and a B group were played in both the A and B at the World Cup each. With 17 participating nations, a new record was set.

Participating nations

1957 only three countries took part at the premiere in Helsinki, Finland. FIB founding member Norway boycotted the tournament due to the interference of the Soviet Union in the uprisings in Hungary in 1956. Yet again boycotted the tournament Norway in 1969 due to the crushing of the Prague Spring.

Since 1985, the United States take part in the tournament. As of 1991, a wide variety of nations who participated in the tournament, including Kazakhstan, which won five bronze medals since 2003.
