Bandy World Championship 1985

The 14th Bandy World Championship was held in Norway from February 3 to February 10 1985. The Soviet Union won in the final 5-4 after extra time against the defending champion Sweden and thus secured the twelfth title. For the first time the U.S. took part in the tournament. However, the North Americans could get no points and a goal difference of 3:31 were severed last.

It was played by which each team had to contest four games a simple round. The group first and second qualifying for the final. The Third and the Fourth of Main Round played for the bronze medal. The fifth was from no placement game.

Venues

It was played in several cities: in addition to Drammen (2 games), Mjøndalen (1 game), Solbergelva (2 games), Ullern (1 game ) Stabekk (1 game) and Røa (1 game) was the capital of Norway Oslo ( 4 games) venue. It was here, among others, also the games for the Bronze and Gold medal on the last day instead.
