Bandy World Championship 1971

The 7th Bandy World Championship was held in Sweden from March 3 to March 14, 1971. The Soviet Union succeeded for the seventh time in a row to win the World Cup in 1971 and remained unbeaten.

After Norway had the World Cup in 1969 boycotted because of the use of Soviet troops at the Prague Spring, it now took part again in the World Cup.

The mode remained the same as in the World Cup two years ago: It has been played a back and a return round, so each team twice met each other and had to contest a total of six games.

Venues

The Twelve Games were held in twelve different places. The venues were Skövde, Vänersborg, Lidköping, Gothenburg, Motala, Örebro, Eskilstuna, Uppsala, Katrine Holm, Västerås, Oxelösund and Stockholm.
