Tiaret Province

The Tiaret (Arabic ولاية تيارت, DMG Wilāyat Tiyārat ) Province is a province ( wilaya ) in Algeria.

The province is located southwest of the capital Algiers in the transition region between the densely populated north and the sparsely populated south. It covers an area of ​​19,556 km2.

Around 810,000 people ( 2006 estimate ) live in the province, the population density is thus about 41 inhabitants per square kilometer.

The provincial capital is Tiaret.
