Tim Tscharnke
Tim Tscharnke ( born December 13, 1989 in Weissenfels ) is a German cross country skier.
Career
Tscharnke, the first time was at the age of two cross-country skis, completed his first start at a FIS race in December 2005 in Upper Wiesenthal. There the starting for the SV Biberau athletes finished the pursuit competition the 75th place of 87 starters. A month later he also 10-kilometer freestyle succeeded in a FIS race in sixth place his first top- ten finish. At the German Championships in 2006 he reached the victory of Tobias Angerer seventh place about 10 km classic. In the following season, he played first competitions in Alpine Cup. Since 2008 Tscharnke trained together with Axel Teichmann and Jens Filbrich in the training group Oberhofer by Cuno Schreyl. Having the best results of the German team and also in the Alpine Cup he could have good results before the start of the 2008/09 season in the performance tests, he was nominated for the levy of the first two contests of the Tour de Ski 2008/2009. In the summer of 2009 Tscharnke began his training as a customs sergeant and has since been one of the customs ski team. After Tscharnke was able to show good results in the performance test in the summer / fall like last year, national coach Jochen Behle nominated him for the injury- induced failure of Franz Göring for the start of the cross country skiing World Cup 2009/10 in Beitostølen. In the 2012/13 season Tscharnke succeeded on his 23rd birthday in Canmore (Canada), his first victory in a World Cup race. The absence of some of the world's top runners took Tscharnke to first place in the mass start race over 15 km in classic style. At the Olympic Games in Sochi in 2014, he missed with Hannes Dotzler in the team sprint because of a fall just before the finish safe medal.
