Timea Bacsinszky

Timea Bacsinszky ( born June 8, 1989 in Lausanne) is a Swiss tennis player.

Career

Bacsinszky won the Swiss championship of juniors in 2000. At the age of 12, she won the prestigious junior tournament Les Petits As in Tarbes; In 2003, she won the tournament again, as Martina Hingis Eleven years earlier,. A day after her 14th birthday, she played her first tournament on the WTA Tour, the Zurich Open, for which she received a wild card for the qualification; in the second round, however, she had to give up against Caroline Maes because of a groin injury. The first successes as a professional

Season 2008

Bacsinszky started with the WTA tournament in Gold Coast in the season. After surviving qualification they failed in the first round of the main draw in straight sets to Flavia Pennetta. Also at the Australian Open, she survived the qualification, then they defeated the Australian Sophie Ferguson 6-4, 6-3. In round two she lost to Sania Mirza with 1:6, 6:4 and 5:7.

In Antwerp, she won again in February, all three qualifying matches. In the first round she defeated Wolha Hawarzowa with 6:3, 3:6 and 7:5, after she had warded off a match point at the registry of 4:5. In the second round she defeated Julie Ditty in straight sets, then they profited against Daniela Hantuchova 6-2, 4-6 and 4-1 from the fact that this had to retire injured. At the French Open she reached after the opening win against Émilie Loit turn to the second round, but failed there to Li Na. Also she reached the second round at Wimbledon, where she defeated Marion Bartoli.

At the U.S. Open Bacsinszky could not repeat their good previous year; she lost in the second round against Hantuchová in three sets. In October, she made her biggest career success, as they could defeat in the final of the BGL Luxembourg Open Sabine Lisicki 6-2, 7-5 and win her first WTA title.

Season 2010

Your best athletic result has been the entry into the finals of Bad Gastein, in which she defeated Julia Görges in straight sets. Both players were also in the final qualifying tournament over, which ended with the same result. They also reached in Miami (Category: Premier Mandatory ) the second round (smooth defeat against Yanina Wickmayer ). At the French Open, she lost in the second round against Alexandra Dulgheru.

Season 2012

Shortly before her 23rd birthday, Bacsinszky separated by about eight years from their manager Erfan Djahangiri. After an abdominal disease, because they had to cancel the French Open, she had ten days earlier, again started training. She denied once ITF tournaments in Italy.
