Tommy Seebach

Tommy Seebach ( born 14 September 1949 in Copenhagen as Tommy Seebach Mortensen, † March 31, 2003 ) was a Danish musicians and participants of three Euro Vision Song Contest. He is the father of Rasmus Seebach.

Life

First appearances as organist had Seebach as a teenager. He played in several bands and orchestras, and was also known by the nickname Boogie Woogie Tommy. In 1965 he became a member and songwriter of the Danish band Sir Henry And His Butlers. From 1976 began his solo career, his debut album Tommygun appeared and he worked as a music producer for his record label EMI. Seebach took off in 1979 a total of seven times during the Dansk Melodi Grand Prix in part, the Danish pre-selection for the Euro Vision Song Contest. In the 1990s, it had become difficult for him as a musician. A new version of his old hits Kröller eller ej brought him a brief comeback.

Seebach, who was married and had three children, suffered from alcohol addiction. He died at age 53 of a heart attack. Although he had managed to overcome his addiction, the cause of his death was attributed to this fact.
