Tore Brunborg

Tore Brunborg ( born May 20, 1960 in Trondheim ) is a Norwegian jazz saxophonist.

Brunborg came in 1979 to Bergen, where he became a member of Knut Kristiansen / Per Jørgensen Quintet. After visiting the Toneheim folk high school, he graduated from 1980 to 1983, a jazz studies at the Music Conservatory Trøndelag. Already during his studies he was active in several bands: the Gunnar Berg 's Chapel, the Bjørn Klakegg Quintet, the Trondheim Sympatiorkester, the Per Husby Quintet, Espen Rud 's Kråbøl and jazz punk ensemble.

In 1982, he joined the quintet of Arild Andersen and Jon Christensen, known since 1983 as Masqualero. With this band he toured Europe and the United States. He played in 1983 with Jon Eberson and 1984 with Espen Rud an LP and was active in the following years with the Trondheim band Plumbo, the group of Bo Stief in Copenhagen, from 1985 to 1986 with the Little Frøen Saxophone Quartet and 1986-1987 with the Bjørn age Haug band. This was followed by recordings for Odin with the Vigleik Storaas Quartet and the group Oslo 13 In addition, he worked with Alfred Janson, Jon Balke and Chick Lyall.

He became a member of Rita Marcotulli Quartet in 1989 and worked from 1990 with the Kjersti Stubø band, starting in 1992 with the band From and To and from 1993 with Jon Balke's Magnetic North Orchestra. He played a recording with Arild Andersen, Knut Kristiansen, Knut and Lars Danielsson Værnes, Mikhail Alperin Jan Gunnar Hoff, Anders Kjellberg and Billy Cobham. In 1997 he brought out the first album ( PrimaLuna ) under his own name with Kjetil Bjerkestrand.
