Tracks is an album of four CDs, Bruce Springsteen released in 1998 on Columbia Records. It contains 66 songs, 56 of which were previously unreleased. The unpublished pieces come mostly from the recording session for the album Born in the USA, The River, Human Touch, Darkness on the Edge of Town and The Wild, the Innocent & the E Street Shuffle.

General

Bruce Springsteen has been known to take in his recordings numerous pieces, later can not find the path to the published album. The quality has usually not critical, but the fact that the songs did not fit the mood of the album. This meant that many bootlegs appeared, Springsteen, next Bob Dylan, made ​​it the artist with the most bootlegs. Overall, were 200 to 300 songs to choose from for the album. The album contains mostly unreleased material, only a few B-sides ( Pink Cadillac, Shut Out the Light, Janey Do not You Lose Heart ) and the original version of the song Because the Night, with Patti Smith in 1978 had a hit, were already been officially released. The first three recordings on CD 1 from May 3, 1972 come from an audition of Springsteen at the famed producer John Hammond, who had discovered, among others, Bob Dylan. The facilities of the box also includes a booklet with a foreword by Bruce Springsteen, song lyrics and more detailed information about the musicians and production.

In addition to the 4- CD box Springsteen released six months later, a selection of the box under the Title 18 tracks, 15 songs come out of the box, plus the pieces were new The Promise, The Fever and Trouble River.

Among the photographers who contributed images for this album, included Herb Ritts, and Annie Leibovitz. The recordings were digitally processed and newly arrived in the Billboard Top 200 as a best finish 27th place.
