Travis Turnbull

Travis Turnbull (* July 7, 1986 in Chesterfield, Missouri ) is an American professional ice hockey player who is under contract with the ERC Ingolstadt in the German Ice Hockey League since 2013.

His father Perry Turnbull completed a total of 608 NHL games for the St. Louis Blues, Montreal Canadiens and Winnipeg Jets.

Career

Turnbull began his career in the United States Hockey League with the Sioux City Musketeers and then moved for four years in the Central Collegiate Hockey Association, where he played a total of 166 games for the University of Michigan and in the 2007/ 08 season, the CCHA Championship won. At the end of the season 2008/ 09 he spent eight games with the Portland Pirates in the American Hockey League and got there then his first professional contract. Although he due to a shoulder injury 59 games missed in the 2010/11 season, the Buffalo Sabres extended his contract, but transferred him to the Rochester Americans, where he completed 66 games, but also came to his NHL debut. On March 23, 2012, he achieved his only NHL goal against the New York Rangers.

Turnbull was hoping to get in the 2012/13 season a contract in the NHL than he, however, the Düsseldorf EC after the failure of Colin Long in early August offered a contract, he said, and began his overseas career.
