Drives is an Austrian town (as of 1 January 2013) in the judicial district or Liezen in Styria, with 3378 inhabitants.

Economically, tourism ( Hohe Tauern ) and Magnesitverarbeitung important. The name comes from instincts slaw trebiti ( grub ).

Geography

The township has a total area of 45.5370 shoots square kilometers. It is thus taking the average size of the community of the district Liezen ( 66.73 km ² ), but above the average community size of Styria.

The municipality comprises the cadastral Dietmannsdorf, St. Lorenzen, Schwarzenbach and shoots.

Neighbouring communities shoots borders the municipalities Gaishorn am See, Hohe Tauern (district Mur ), rotting husband and Admont.

The council consists of 21 members and has been committed to the local council election 2010 mandates the following parties together.

Coat of arms

The coat of arms shows Triebener on a gold shield a green three mountain, covered with golden mountain crossed hammers, hammer and chisel. In a cycling shoe with chain and hook.

Financial chaos

In November 2008 it was announced that in the community drives duties not levied, manipulated accounts and loans were paid twice. It was built over the years a debt of 30 million euros. This is statistically more than twice the per capita fault than in the state capital Graz. Consequently, the council was dissolved and sent a commissioner to prepare a restructuring plan. The country also granted an interest-free loan. On October 4, 2009, a new council was elected.

Railway: drives is on the railway line Bischofshofen Graz, on a section of the railway in the feed to Rudolf Schoberpass.

Street: drives located on the A9 motorway Wels - Graz and B113 Schoberpass road Enns - Mur / Muerztal, and is also the connection of Admont coming over the Kaiserau on the Triebener Tauernpass towards Jews castle.   • MACO: The Maco is one of the leading window hardware manufacturers in the world. The site offers shoots in for about 1200 people work (May 2009). Thus, the MACO is one of the largest employers in the entire Enns and Paltental. The production plant in shoots was constructed according to the knowledge and expanded continuously in the sequence.   • Veitsch -Radex GmbH today RHI AG: It is the world leading supplier of refractory products for the steel, non-ferrous, glass and cement industry, the steel industry with 70% main customers. Associations and Institutions

  • Band: The place has two bands. The station and town band and the music chapel of St. Lorenzen.
  • Fire Department: There are volunteer fire departments in shoots, Sankt Lorenzen and Dietmannsdorf. The company RHI operates a fire brigade, which also disengages the use case in the community area.
  • Trachtenverein D' Triebenstoana: The Trachtenverein was founded in 1959. The aim of the association is to preserve cultural heritage as Styrian dance and Schuhplattler. There is also a youth group.
