Trnava (Třebíč District)

Trnava ( German Tirnau, formerly Trnawa ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located six kilometers northeast of Třebíč and belongs to Okres Třebíč.

Geography

Trnava is located in the valley of the brook Klapovský creek in Krischanauer Bergland ( Křižanovská Highlands ) in the south of the Bohemian- Moravian Highlands in the area of the nature park Třebíčsko. North of the village rises the hill Ostra hora (495 m ) west of the Kopaniny (520 m). In the north, the three ponds Podlipský rybnik, Velky Bor Bor and Maly are

Neighboring towns are Přeckov and Rudíkov in the north, Obora, Nový Dvůr and Nárameč in the northeast, Valdíkov in the east, in the southeast Hostákov, Ptáčov in the south, Pocoucov the southwest, Budíkovice in the west and Věstoňovice in the northwest.

History

The first written mention of Trnava took place in 1101.

1785 the parish was established. 1808 was a village school. After the abolition of patrimonial Trnava / Trnawa formed in 1850 a municipality in the district Třebíč. In 1872, a large hoard of Austrian denarii from the 14th and 15th centuries was made in Trnava. 1885 a new school house for a two-class school was inaugurated. The volunteer fire department Trnava was founded in 1904. Between 1972 and 1974, the Culture House was built. This led to a further hoard of silver coins from the time of Wenceslas IV Since 2004 Trnava leads a coat of arms and banners.

Attractions

  • Church of St. Peter and Paul, built in 1618 as a Protestant house of prayer for the Holy Spirit. 1620 was passed after its completion the Catholics, who extended it in 1665 to the church. 1785 was rebuilt in the classical style and the church was consecrated to the apostles Peter and Paul.
